I flew into Manila on 2/14, and after spending about twenty-four hours in that rather grimy and hectic metropolis, I took a bus up to Baguio in the mountains to the north. I didn’t plan to stay long, it was just a stopover to check out the town, get over jet lag, and do a few things before heading further north to Sagada.
Baguio is a relatively cool town of about a quarter million, and while it’s pretty quiet compared to Manila, it’s still pretty packed and bustling in the downtown area, and full of more smoke-belching jeepneys.
Still, I think I’ll probably return here for a couple days on my way back south and Palawan. I don’t know if I’ll catch the flower festival, although it sounds pretty amazing.
